National Resource Centre on Kshara Sutra therapy


For the treatment of various ano-rectal diseases through ancient Ksharsutra therapy, vice chancellor, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Dr Lalji Singh inaugurated a National Resource Centre on Kshara Sutra therapy at faculty of Ayurveda, Sir Sundar Lal (SSL) hospital on 16-04-2013.
According to head and coordinator, Prof Manoranjan Sahu, the centre is the first of its kind in the country dedicated for the easy treatment of piles and fistula. The year-old Ayurvedic therapy of Ksharsutra will be applied for the treatment of ano-rectal diseases causing little discomfort to the patients. The centre is provided with a 13-channel anala manometry machine and video colonoscopy. The two-storeyed building of the centre is equipped with a common room with 26 beds, a special room with six beds, minor operation theatre, waiting room, and one major operation theatre.
